The 24th International Young Audience
Film Festival Ale Kino!
Poznań 10th-16th December 2006
  1. The 24th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! will be held from the 10th to 16th of December 2006 in Poznań.
     
  2. The organizers of the Festival are the Children's Art Centre in Poznań and its partners.
     
  3. The aim of the Festival is to present and promote valuable films for children and youths, stimulate their distribution and create a forum for artists, film critics and theorists, producers, distributors, representatives of audio-visual media, pedagogues and young viewers. The Festival forms an important element of cultural education.
     
  4. The Festival's programme comprises screenings of competition films, special screenings and additional events.
     
  5. The competition is open to films meeting the following criteria:
    • live-action or animated,
    • produced in the years 2004-2006,
    • on a 35 mm film print with optical sound recording or in Betacam SP system,
    • representing a separate artistic whole.
     
  6. Films may be entered by their producers or authorized institutions, using entry forms which should be sent in by 15 August 2006. The forms should be accompanied by a VHS cassette or DVD disc. Foreign films must have English subtitles or a dialogue list in English.
     
  7. The organizers of the Festival will make a selection of films. All entrants will be notified of the decision by 1 October 2006. In the event of selecting a film for the competition it is necessary to provide the following immediately:
    • a dialogue list in English,
    • a biography, filmography and a photo of a film director,
    • stills and promotional materials.
     
  8. Films participating in the competition will be judged by an international jury appointed by the organizers. The jury will award the following statutory prizes:
    • The Golden Goats, The Silver Goats and The Bronze Goats for live-action films,
    • The Golden Goats, The Silver Goats and The Bronze Goats for animated films.
    Additionally the jury will award the prize of the International Centre of Films for Children and Young People CIFEJ.
     
  9. Films for children participating in the competition will also be judged by a children's jury appointed by the organizers. The jury will award the Marcinek prize.
     
  10. Films for young adults participating in the competition will also be judged by a vote of young viewers. The best films will be awarded the Marcin prize.
     
  11. The organizers of the Festival will award a special prize, the Platinum Goats, for the excellent film or audiovisual media output for young audiences.
     
  12. Other special prizes funded by private individuals, institutions and organizations may also be awarded, in agreement with the organizers.
     
  13. The organizers will invite selected authors of films selected for the competition.
     
  14. The print of the film selected for the competition must be sent in by 22 November 2006 to the following address:

  15. The print should be in the original version, if possible with English subtitles.
     
  16. The sender shall cover shipping costs. The organizers of the Festival shall cover the costs of returning the film.
     
  17. The Festival covers the cost of insurance of the print to the full value quoted in the entry form. Insurance covers the period from delivering the copy to the Festival by the carrier to the collection of the copy by the returning carrier. The copy shall be returned to the address indicated in the entry form immediately after closing the Festival.
     
  18. The entrants authorize the organizers to use the following free of charge:
    • a print of the film at two additional screenings during the Festival,
    • promotional materials for Festival publications,
    • parts of the film for promotional purposes.
     
  19. By submitting a film to the Festival an entrant shall agree to these regulations. Issues not covered by these regulations are subject to decisions made by the organizers.
